Mrs. Rashida Jabbar

Mrs. Rashida H. Jabbar aka (Mrs. Rashida / Mrs. Jabbar) has been a Humanitarian for over 30 years. Mrs. Jabbar is currently an active Block Captain in the neighborhood in which she lives, bringing activities of peace and healing to her community. Ms. Jabbar also provides management advice and counsel to those who are in need of such services with her business partner Dr Tracy C. McNair, of McNair Associates Inc. Her extensive experience in human resources and as a community liaison allows her to also coach executive leaders in various industries. It is no wonder that Ms. Jabbar is described as a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Change Angel and Advocate for Humanities, even a Change Agents and Business Consulting. She has many names including a delegate member / consultant of Nurses Across the Boarders NGO to the United Nations. That also included a delegate at the 2018 Commission on the Status of Women held at The United Nations.

In 1987 Mrs. Jabbar began her work in North Philadelphia, where she was the Founder of Young Mothers For Life, an organization of young mothers in her community who’s primary concern was AIDS & HIV awareness, and Anti-violence outreach within her community .The organization held talent shows and award programs for the community. They fought in a war against drugs & violence in her neighborhood, persisting through harassment and threats in order to continue such an important mission. The organization ended in 1990.

In 2003 Ms. Jabbar-Founded J&R Grassroots and entered the music industry. Observing the promotion of violence, drug abuse, and objectification of young women in the music industry, she was compelled to do something about it, instead of becoming a part of it like most. A movement so influential and important to the world started just in her living room.

Ms. Jabbar earned a reputation as credible and informative source in the music industry for the youth. As crime and drugs were claiming the lives of our youth, neighborhood kids migrated to her home using it as a safe haven and eager to soak up the insight she provided. Noticing most of the youth lacked the skill, experience, and mental strength needed to become successful and long-lasting artists, but they also lacked stable homes, supportive environments, and the ability to read or write.

J&R Grassroots organization services approximately 3,000 youth and young adults per year through event planning, guest speaking, mentoring programs, community events , concerts, annual children coat drive , determining youth needs from food, to shelter, to career exploration.

In 2010 - 2012 Ms. Jabbar became a consultant for Public Private Ventures (PPV) founded by the Ford Foundation in 1978.

With the mission to improve the effectiveness of policies, programs, and community initiatives, especially as they affect vulnerable communities.
